Last year was our first year of deer hunting for my son and I, during this period Annie (our Brittany) stayed home as I was not confident of my level of control and she was still quite young. During that year past we walked a lot of miles (8 to 10 trips in the field), saw many deer and failed to capitalise on a number of opportunities with my son eventually scoring our first deer on what was the last trip before the weather started to warm up (and cricket season begun).
This year the things have been different, Annie's been coming and we've had a 100% strike rate so far, 3 trips since easter for 3 deer with my son scoring a nice doe yesterday to fill the freeezer. Yesterday she worked a treat, as long as I could keep the wind in her face she held her head high, scented beautifully and kept within real good range, if the wind dropped off or or got behind us she had her nose on the ground and i had to really controll her or she would end up anywhere.
Not real sure if we could say for sure that Annie has made the difference on all three hunts but you can't argue with the stats, she has turned two  average hunters from last year into two (well three) very succesfull hunters this year.
Cheers,
Waldo

That's great news, Waldo, especially with your setback with Annie's hips.  I hope you all continue to have good times like these.  Give her a hug from ehr namesake!
