Not exactly a boast but................
Today has been sad but then again a good day.
For further clarification Mugi has retired as a working dog today. He is 12.5 and for the last two seasons he has worked hard and well beating at least once a week and sometimes more. He is now finding it harder to work - his spirit is strong but his body has let him down and I know that even if he is still with me next season he will have to stay home.
He has had a busy week this week, 2 half days at Bunwell and today he took his young brother too. They did two drives on partridge together (Chase does not understand why Mugi has the freedom to roam as his flexi allows while he has to walk at heel). Then Chase had one drive but after lunch Chase was popped away while Mugi enjoyed the last two drives by himself.
In the beaters van (Chase can just be seen as a bit of dirty B&W fur in the bottom L corner), one of 15 dogs out today!
Chase waiting in the Shoot Owners Range Rover so Mugi gets his last two drives all to himself!
Keen to start - and the pic so sums him up
Modelling his beaters outfit
The very final time (also highlighting the main problem he now fights.......his heart failure hence the froth round his nose)
Tomorrow is Beaters Day and will be far too physical for Moo. This has been a lovely end to his abbreviated working life and I have to say I am glad he doesn't understand it was his last time!!!!! _________________ Sue, Chase and the non-Brittany boys - Brice & Piper. Pets first and foremost.

Well done Mugi - and well done to you Sue. I'm sure he will still enjoy some great walks. _________________ If your dog thinks you are the best do not seek a second opinion!
Sue, you have done so much with Mugi over the short time you've had him, and he has got so much joy out of working. His expression is so like his mum's in the head study I had to do a double-take on it!
