Ruby worked a hedgerow first with a cheek wind & soon went on piont but guns missed bird so carried on. In new plantation now and after good bit of quartering soon went on a strong point again & held cock pheasant for what felt like forever, sent her in on command & stopped her dead on flush & produced perfect retrieve. On to water retrieve shaking now but did'nt need to as ruby did it with ease.
Had to feel for Alan as toscane was fantastic as was Andy but for a Hare. A Very Rare day to see three Brits do so well a little bit of luck on the day & .who Knows.
1st Andy Mcdonalds H/V. 2ND Ruby & I. 3rd Rob Gould G/L/P
Well deserved Mick as I have seen Ruby for myself...
We are really happy for you and it is wonderful for the breed. May it carry on...
Alan was extremely pleased with Toscane, she has been working really well lately and retrieving woodcock and snipe with no hesitation as well as the usual pheasants.
I am not going to comment on what went wrong, 2 birds were shot, she has pointed, flushed and retrieved the first bird to hand. The main thing is Alan felt she did everything he asked from her. As for Andy's Beau, sadly he is not used to seeing enough hares and they are a huge temptation He is still very young.
All in all, nothing to be ashamed of and those dogs are capable of being at the top
