how about a list of future judges and the shows they are doing - it used to be on the club site but couldn't find it. _________________ Guy, Ellie, Topaz, Catja and in memory Barley

I have asked Paul for these twice without success. About to email the KC _________________ Annie

I think the biggest problem comes from the fact that the majority of the people who regularly read the Dog Papers are the people who show. I certainly never bought a paper before I wanted to see critiques and as such we have a fairly stable readership who probably don't want to keep submitting stuff for fear that they will almost sound to be bragging - does that make sense? I know what I mean but may not be getting my point across .
I do read breed notes and am prepared to send in stories but would not want to sound as though I was always putting forward my dog. _________________ Sue, Chase and the non-Brittany boys - Brice & Piper. Pets first and foremost.
I prefer to avoid putting in Champ wins - they are printed anyway. I like putting in Open wins where we have classes as that encourages people to enter them in future. And every dog has its day so if you win at one show you might be last in the class at the next - so it isn't bragging. What I REALLY want to do is give people information on what is coming up, what working wins have been awarded, and what people have been doing with their dogs OTHER than showing. The dog newspapers are NOT just for show people! _________________ Annie

There are people who follow breed notes who are not in the breed at all. I have even met people at Discover dogs who have been aware wht we are up to and find the lack of focus on 'show only' interesting and refreshing.
Sue - I know where you are coming from - if it is always the same people who write in about their dogs.... you could always write ' a member's dog did so and so at such and such event .
I will try and write something about the club Saturday to 'bump up the thread' so to speak. _________________ Guy, Ellie, Topaz, Catja and in memory Barley

Thanks Guy. Much appreciated. If anyone wants to give me an anonymous story that's absolutely fine - I have written that sort of thing before, I don't always put the names in. Sue, perhaps you could give me a bit about your dog games - I think I mentioned it once before but people like that sort of thing.
If anyone doesn't get the Ours Dogs paper I can send you some snippets from my notes by private email.
