Could anyone tell me if dogs have their own tax allowance. Remi has been raking it in today, winning £3.00 in AV Puppy stakes and £1.00 in AV Junior stakes. I wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of the revenue. Wink

you can have dogs as a legitimate business allowance if they can be shown to contribute to the business.

Whilst Remi may be earning you need to offset these earning with any direct and indirect costs.

Direct costs could be entry fees and transport costs to get to the show.
Indirect costs would be husbandry costs that Remi might incur - food springs to mind.

Don't forget to carry forward any losses.

Well done on the results. Laughing

Thanks Guy. He did get a couple of other placings.

Best AVNSC Gundog Puppy (They didn't have an only puppy rosette), 3rd Junior AVNSC gundog (nobody got Res or VHC).

The Stakes placings pleased me though as they were large classes and he got a 3rd in puppy and VHC in Junior

Well done to Remi. Plus a very valid point Eddie

Right that point has got me worried ... Monet earns money when out beating, should i disclose this to the inland revenue? - Monet earns between £25 - £40 every day out?

If there were any "My friend thinks I should have won" rosettes, I'd have got one of those too. Actually I reckon they'd sell really well. Maybe I should get some made up.  Wink  Laughing

I've a horrible feeling that Remi's winnings will exceed my pension, so I might as well.
