Diet according to the teachings of the world renown herbalist Juliette de Bairacli Levy
Specimen diet for an average sized dog.
Midday: 100 per cent flaked whole-grain wheat, rye or barley softened with either raw milk or vegetable juice. Sour milk is excellent with this. Wholewheat, rye, or corn bread, or biscuits of same, also (uncooked) whole maize flour, can be added to this meal. Raw eggs can also be mixed into the cereal approximately four times a week. Likewise, some corn (maize or sunflower oil, or sesame (tahini), one teaspoon for an average size dog; use far less if the dog is fat.
Evening; meat, raw, in large pieces, never minced. A small quantity of fat should be included. Give raw bones. Plus one teaspoon wheat-germ flakes. Plus one teaspoon cod-liver oil (winter). Plus seaweed powder. Plus one heaped dessertspoon very finely chopped raw green herb, such as parsley, watercress, goosegrass, purslane, cresses. The inclusion of the herb is important. Grated raw carrot can also be added.
Plus several dessertspoons of bran or flaked oats to replace lost roughage of the skin and hair.
I was wondering if anyone had tried this diet outlined in her book "The Complete Herbal Handbook for the Dog and Cat". I have abridged the diet but not in a manner that removes the ingredients.
