Chase here - we have a lovely tasty crab apple tree in the garden - I love nibbling the apples, but ......

Charley and Brice also love the apples and they have cleared all the apples that I can reach and now are standing on tippy toe to get more. I am trying hard to climb the fence to get at least the odd one but for shame I am reduced to scrabbling around for the odd one they drop.

It isn't fair being the smallest!!!!!!!!!!

Annie - he has just realised he actually is and that is a hard lesson to learn when you have a house guest who has a reach of prob another 6" (she is a small weim) and Brice who stands 32" to shoulder and is 32" tip of shoulder to base of tail = bloomin tall and poor tree is fair game.

Will try to get some pics tomorrow weather permitting - tis dark out there now although they haven't given up. The tree was a present a few years back and it is taking a hammering this year from the dogs Rolling Eyes .

Going away from Brittanys Fred my late WSS was a little bugger for birds and I had a few interpid couples in the garde who would nest just higher than he could reach. I swear he would chat to Brice to ask him to lower the nests so Fred could check out the fledglings - sap that Brice is he would often be seen doing Fred's bidding ... I don't know how dogs communicate but Brice would often oblige Freddy with things that held no interest for Brice so I am convinced there is some pack chat that means dogs work as a team and not only for self gratification.

Hasn't Chase learnt how to climb trees yet?   Barney used to.   Fortunately none of my present brats do, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time Shocked  Very Happy  Wink  Wink

My Standard Poodle would try the apples to see if they were ready. It was ages before we realised what the funny marks on the bottom ones were. He would wait then until the things were ripe and then pick and eat them. He also liked tomatoes and would pick those from the plants. These two pinch the pears from the tree and will also eat windfall apples.......AND that DOG nicks my blackberries Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad
