Ruby & I were drawn 1st out of 12 runners. Ruby was the only Brit entered . Ruby worked the hedgerow really well again'st the wind went on point & hen pheasant was shot & came down in next ploughed  field. After crawling over ditch & two hedgerow's we were told where bird was but Ruby was still in hunting mode & insisted on going to the left where she flushed it out instead ofstraight ahead as told by me. Hence we were out for failed retrieve. Big learning curve but we will get there in the end hopefully.

Onwards and upwards Smile .

I have decided that people who just get out there deserve a medal and when I do feel ready Chase will probably be on a zimmer frame Laughing  Laughing  Laughing .

I feel the same Sue, but if Ghill can do it at 7 there's hope for our lot!
Well done, Mick and Ruby!  Good luck for the  next one.  FTs are suffering from the petrol prices and the crunch I think.  Our Scottish one only just went a head with only 8 runners.

Yes, Well done Mick. You are getting out there and entering, that is the hardest bit!
Showing our breed in the trials is good for it.  Wink

Well done Mick.

We will have to keep our fingers crossed for Fiona with Dag at the HVS trial - with you drawn 13 reserve and me 15reserve I don't think we will be getting a run.

I'd love to support the club's field trials, attending even if not entering, but

Hamptworth 245 miles each way
Craig Castle 387 miles each way
Hungerford (Inholmes estate) only 192 miles each way
Ampton 222 miles each way
Bunwell 242 miles each way

So an overnight stay in all cases and only one journey under 400 miles return for what could be a 5 minute run and that's without taking fuel, entry fees, time off work, etc. into account.

Maybe that's one of the reasons that relatively few people trial their dogs.

Rolling Eyes
Craig castle 600 each way for me so that is a non starter.

Luckily for me everything else is under 150.

You are welcome to come and stay here overnight and do Hamptworth (35miles)
