A big hello to everyone wave  I've been visiting this forum for a while and going to do it also in future as you have some very interesting conversations! This does good to my vanishing english skills too... I'm 27 years old Finn, originally from an little island called Hailuoto but nowdays I live nere there in Oulu which is largest city in Northern Finland. My family, hunting areas and also my heart are still staying at Hailuoto so I spend a big part of my time here.

First breton came to our family when I was a little girl in 1990. "Kata" lived 15 years and was very beloved family dog and used hunting but was not very well trained for that. Next one Midtvejs Uxelle aka "Vila" was already an adult when she moved to me. Such an sweetheart and very birdy dog, passionate hunter, eager retriever...In november 2008 I said goodbye to her, she was over 14 years old.  sad11 Because of these two dogs i have got deeply involved with this breed and I am active member of  Finnish Breton Club, puppy advisor ect. Right now I don't have breton, have had bad luck with purchasing puppy Sad But i do have a russian hound (unknown breed outside of scandinavia, baltic and russia). Our pack includes also another russian hound and working labrador puppy, we have some kind of "shared custody" to our dogs with my brother and sister-in-law... Our webpages: http://www.paivik.net/koirat/ Only in finnish (Lauma = our dogs, Huoltojoukot = we, Muistio = my blog, Galleria = my neverending picture gallery).

With bretons we do hunt every kind of birds, mainly black grouses, willow grouses, capercaillies, waterfowls, but also pigeons, woodcocks ect. Hounds are used hunting foxes and hares, but sometimes they do also help finding birds when waterfowling. We have very nice hunting opportunities here, right now hares bouncing on garden and gooses yelling on backyard and we are really waiting for hunting season to start!

My hobby is collect pictures of bretons to my website, so if you want to see finnish dogs: http://bretonigalleria.paivik.net/ Tails, tails, tails.. some of them may be pretty weird looking (...not only beacause of tails...).

Old ladys Kata and Vila, gone but not forgotten!

welcome to the forum.  What an interesting site http://bretonigalleria.paivik.net/  is.  I found the 'all dogs' bit most interesting - particularly the way the pedigrees are populated by pictures of most of the dogs.

I look forward to reading more about your dogs.

Welcome and "happy reading" Wink
Like Guy, I trawled through the " all dogs" section... Found many imports,  one of the latest being a brother of Carex du hameau de Sorny? Also a brother to Rocky de St Tudec... Plaines dauxeeenes, Kerveillant etc...I liked Euz...
Have you some American dogs in all that lot?
I am glad personnaly we can still dock though!
