I have just endured one of the most harrowing times of my life.At 12.30 saturday afternoon,BOTH Tilly and Bo gave me the slip.(Tilly being the main culprit)In a matter of seconds they were completley out of sight in woodland that i know like the back of my hand.I walked untill dark looking for them but to no avail.Jo in the meantime contacted all the appropriate authorities.I was up at daybreak and decided to drive around the area looking for them and clocked up one hundred and fifteen miles just driving around the vicinity, again to no avail. At this point i was totally shattered and felt broken,i was convinced i'd never see them again even though they're both chipped. It wasn't until 5PM when the local police rang to say a lady 10miles away had two dogs that fitted their description. We were there at warp speed to find two very very tired Brittanys looking rather sorry for themselves. In the end a happy ending, but it could have been so different.I never ever want to go through that pain again.

So so glad that they are home safe. I can't imagine how you felt (well can a bit living with Freddy the bog-off dog), I would have been devastated.

You certainly WERE lucky - been there, done that, got the T shirt - umpteen times. Evil or Very Mad , we've also always been lucky.

Even though they are chipped it doesn't stop them wandering onto roads or agressive farms.

One youngster that we bred got lost up in the woods near Forres and was never found, but her owner phoned me a few months ago - 4 years after her ex-husband had lost Demi - to say that they had just found her skeleton. She had probably just gone to sleep we think as she had a heart problem. Hadn't been touched by anything else either. A sad tale but at least she was found, we had thought she had been stolen.

Glad you had a happy ending - it's our worst nightmare.

Glad you got them back Andrew, I have had the same problem running two dogs together. Both my young pup and his older sister are very reliable to return when worked alone but when these two are together they egg eachother on and all thought of me goes out the window. Interestingly when each is run with one of my older, mature, dogs they return to old form and heed my direction.

So glad there was a happy ending, Andrew. I can't imagine what it must have felt like - even a few minutes out of sight is bad enough!
