Not training aids but I was wondering what TOYS your Brittany loves and what your Brittany doesn't destroy? _________________ Sue, Chase and the non-Brittany boys - Brice & Piper. Pets first and foremost.
In answer to the above Chase's absolute passion is....................The Aubergine (well more precisely The Eggplant ). I now have a couple of these as Brice also loves it as does Piper although Piper has guarding issues so isn't allowed one of his own yet.
I don't stuff them with treats but the boys adore chomping, chucking them and doing some really good retrieves (yep the deerhound too) in a very relaxed way. _________________ Sue, Chase and the non-Brittany boys - Brice & Piper. Pets first and foremost.
Never forgetting Mugi and Freddy

Merlin loves toilet roll inners......although I did notice that yesterday he went up and nicked a roll off the holder. Unfortunately the doors on both loos have handles so he can open them and go in the waste basket to find empty holders. This has had the effect of making me extremely tidy _________________ Jan

Both Allez and Hester just adore carrying my slippers around. They never chew them, they will go and find them when I ask 'where's mummy's slippers' and go back for 'the other one' when asked too. They have various other bits and bobs around - old bits of bone, chew rings, squeaky toys - but nothing compares to one of Mum's smelly slippers. I have two pairs so when one pair is being retrieved I still have another pair to wear. _________________ Annie

Annie has never really been into "toys" much, she did have a habit though of stealing paint brushes from the cupboard in the shed whenever I opened the cupboard door. She was always so pleased (or smug) with herself and would tear off around the yard with the brush, she has tired of the game apparently and seldom does it anymore.

Paper/loo rolls = extremely dangerous.
Paper and cardboard is almost pure roughage but it may coagulate in the gut if eaten and cause severe constipation leading to possible peritonitis?
(spelling)
My dogs' toys would probably be the short sawn branches, about nine inches long, 2 - 3 inches in diameter kept in each run. One more stick than the number of dogs.
It's OK Des he doesn't eat them, he just lurks around doorways with them in his mouth _________________ Jan

Aren't sticks every bit as dangerous as loo rolls? my dogs don't have sticks, I would worry that they argue over them, they split and go down their gullets. _________________ Annie

All toys/objects of play of any material/type have the potential to be harmful, therefore games/playing should be supervised... there, aren't i a kill joy
In the same breath... it could be argued that toys also cause dominance, guarding, obsession and hard mouth
With that said, Monet has loads of toys e.g. raggies, teddies, kongs, balls and a stupid expensive Nina Ottosson game. His favourite however, is a 25p second-hand baby toy from a charity shop - it has different textures and makes crunching, rattling sounds... he loves it to pieces and doesn't let Poppy (the toy destroyer) near it Monet does not destroy toys he loves them too much.
My two have squeaky ducks...which they forget about for weeks then rediscover with the novelty wearing off veryquickly. I have bought various balls for them...get the look 'oh, great, a ball' Those rope pieces and other toys are no interest to them at all...enter the roasted pig ears...they really enjoy the treat. I also give them beef bones...I usually cook the bones in boiling water with veges...they do not insist on burying the bones if they are cooked (I get a bit tired of replanting the geraniums)...then use the 'stock' in their night feed. Because the dogs come to work with me every day, by the time we get home they are just ready for their meal and are asleep by the fire or on the couch, after a good play fight (which She usually wins), within an a hour or so!!
