2nd hunting tripAnnie my 14month old Brittany came out hunting for the second time yesterday and she worked a treat, did not put a foot wrong all day. I've put a lot of effort in lately and it really has paid off, she has settled down is much better behaved in the back yard (and my wife likes her again).
We were chasing foxes but didn't manage to find any, did manage to pick up a duck on a dam and she did her first water retrieve, hesitated 2 or 3 times (she hasn't gone past wading distance before) but wanted that duck so bad, in she went 5m of swimming and return. Also had one dropped out in the paddock which she didn't see fall but picked it up no worries at all. Can't wait till next autumn (Australian) to start her on deer, the hard work has paid off.
