A message from LizSome of you may have been wondering why Liz hasn't posted for a while.
I visited her today in Edinburgh Western General Hospital where she has been for the past few days. Below is a message she has asked me to post.

"I've been out of contact for a while as I went into our local hospital for tests at the beginning of December and have now been diagnosed with myeloma. I'm now having radio therapy in Edinburgh, but should be back nearer home the beginning of the week.
I can't get onto the internet just now and can only get at my emails when Bill brings my laptop in, so I'm feeling pretty isolated.
I'm taking each day as it comes, but the doctors are very confident it is treatable, but as yet they don't know how much damage has been done.
Bill's having a rough time of it - having to cope with the dogs, the house, phoning round everyone, as well as hospital visiting. Still, I have some super friends who have really come up trumps with their help and support.
Hopefully they(the hospital) will let me out before too long, so things will get back to normal again soon.

Claire Bainbridge and I thought Liz was looking very well today, as she has done the last three visits I've made to see her after hearing about her illness. She is handling her treatment very well at the moment with no ill effects. She has her mobile with her but is not allowed to have it in Border general when she hopefully transfers there tomorrow.
I will keep you all up to date with news as I get it but if anyone would like to post messages here I will print off this thread in a couple of days to send to Liz.

So sorry to hear of your illness Liz.
It isn't always easy, but when you're not feeling well we hope it helps to know others are thinking of you and hoping that you'll be better very soon. Take good care of yourself.
Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery from Edna, Hayley and I.

Like John I really am sorry to hear that you're ill Liz. It's encouraging that Annie says you're looking well and seem to be handling the treatment well.
Sincere best wishes from Lynda and me.

Thanks everyone for your messages. I've been let out now, so am home, and the rest will hopefully be able to be done in outpatients.
It was great to see the guys after 3 weeks - poor Bill has really been landed with them, but made such a good job with them!
At the moment I am supervising everything while my lovely daughter in law Nic has taken over the cooking and my son Ian has helped clean the house - not bad, eh

Great to hear you're out Liz. I bet the guys were as pleased to see you as you were to see them.
