Mugi

A nightmare few days

Thursday evening I came home from work to find my WSS really flat, he was shivering, no bowel sounds and vomiting everything that came his way even water. Cos of my nursing background, extensive first aid kit and the fact my vets are fab 24/7 I did not rush him to the vet and in fact took Mugi beating on the friday popping home to see Fred (at this point I thought is was down to a dodgy old bag of treats he had thieved). He was no worse but no better and totally not himself.

Mugi had a great day beating as I posted on the HPR forum but to my horror on sat morning he was vomiting and shivering too, Freddy was still poorly and although it sounds awful I was more worried about Mugi as he is so much older and has his heart, renal and liver underlying problems. I still played a waiting game as I truly don't think vets can do much apart from fluids etc which I can do myself as well and I don't like antibiotics ad hoc. (I also contacted all the peeps Mugi had been in contact with on Friday as this seems to be a bug)

Saturday evening saw Chase start the same symptoms as I was about to head for work for a night shift. I arranged someone to stay the night - forever grateful for fab friends!!!!!!

This morning saw Freddy better but unwilling to eat - he has always had feeding issues following his start in life so I set him up to 'steal' some of my food and once he had eaten he was prepared to eat his own food.

This evening all the boys have had a meal of chicken (Morrisons rotiserrie roast yummy cos I couldn't find breasts for sale anywhere), rice and live yogurt. All are now contentedly asleep and my worst nightmare seems to be over - BRICE hasn't succumbed!!! the amount everyone else has spewed made me fear the consequences if my mammoth joined the malady.

All dogs are in quarantine for the next 48 hours (provided Brice doesn't start symptoms) which means Mugi and Freddy miss their training club christmas party - no doggy buffet for them!!!!

Awww, nightmare is an understatement, glad to hear they're all on the mend.

Glad all seems to be coming together, especially this time of year  Wink

Glad everything seems to have settled down by now - pity the boys will miss their party, though.
