Following on from the post John has made of an Open Show with Brittany classes,
I can't always do these shows as economics of fuel or work will get in the way. A few times I have been asked to support shows with an entry even though I can't attend. With a numerically small breed is this really worthwhile? I know revenue will always be welcome but are entries the deciding factor for offering classes or the number of dogs that turn up?
For Open Shows I can probably afford to be 'generous' sometimes but hey, money is not a never ending pit and if a 'no show' entry is not counted in the grand scheme I see little point.

For a Judges' qualification to progress from C to B then B to A3 they need numbers of dogs, not just entries. So nowadays it isn't worth it. I don't enter unless I intend going now. Sometimes other things get in the way as you say, but you have to enter a good while in advance so have to take a decision.
