I think we have seen this one before....
Cockney = Cocker X Brittany one with a London Accent

Some might find this appropriate as
Cockney= cock's egg = miss-fit

I asked my sister if her Bergamasco puppy could come and play with the Breton...she said as long as Alinghi was not in season...we had a humourous moment deciding what name the resulting cross should go under...Berton, Berco, Bregam...

We were in Enfield this morning as Mike was visiting his dentist. On the way back we made a scenic detour to the garden center and then to the A10 Pet Shop. I wanted to see what fish they had.....not much and there were dead ones in the tanks [never buy fish from a tank where there are dead ones] the shop has a section out back where they sell pups, kittens, rabbits and small animals. They had Springer X Pointers in there at £280 each Sallie...so those you saw at £70? were a bargain.
They also had.......wait for it.........JUGS at £500.
Anyone want to guess what they were

Jugs - would that be Jack Russels X Pugs? ... £500, its expensive where you live for dogs

Tthink you've hit the nail on the head Sallie, a Jug is a Jack Russell/Pug. Would love to hear what my friend Almandine thinks of that

They looked like pugs, colour size, tail curled over the back etc, they were fawn with a black mask. Only difference was they had a slightly longer nose. Perhaps not a bad thing in view of all the recent talk about breathing difficulties

Yuck alright. Sallie...just another crossbred...it is all part of the anti-,pedigree dog stance...how the blazes can a mongrel crossbred bitzer be worth so much...it defies logic...designer dogs...designer what?????? Here we are, spend as much time as possible pawing over books, articles, whatever to understand and learn more about our gorgeous breed, learning the breed standard to the point of being able to recite it, giving them every opportunity to fulfil their roles as hunters, exhibiting and trialing them to pronounce their versatility, intelligence, natural ability, beauty...

I agree with you BUT remember all dogs started life as crossbreeds. If they hadn't crossed several breeds we wouldn't have our Brittany's and, who knows what may develop from some of these Xs that are being done now

Deja vu - tried to say this before in another post ... i agree with you Jan. The formidable multi talented Monet wouldn't be here without trial and error, with the originator crossbreeding dogs

There you go Sallie....great minds think alike etc etc

Yes, you are right....more than a century ago, the originators of our breed conjured a dog to suit their purposes of the chasse; not some social engineering...basically the continuance of manipulation and the dumbing down of the populace...allowing such crossbreds to be so valuable...and so on....its elitism in reverse...still, if some idiot wants to pay megabucks for an unknown quantity I guess its their choice...actually when I think about it...let them buy their mongrels...at least they are not going to wreck a decent Epagneul Breton.

It doesn't matter what the dog - its the handler/trainer that inputs the faults of the dog... for example, you can own a crap pure breed or a fantastic cross... the dog is only as good as the owner. As my trainer tells us all any dog can be trained to do what ever the handler wants ... no matter what the breeding Its the time and effort involved that is the key to a good dog.
As for money ... well, the credit crunch has no baring on accessories
I personnally have nothing against any dog (owned crosses, mongrels and pures) as long as it isn't aggressive or a collie, or a .........
