Excuse me for being thick!

AA?
guy

Although field trialling and dog training sometimes drives you to drink AA refers to All Age.

Field Trials have three 'stakes'  Novice open to all dogs, All Age open again to all dogs but in reality restricted to better performing dogs and also a stake that allows a breed club to apply restrictions to the entry - for example  to their own breed should they wish.  Open is open to all dogs of all HPR breeds and  unless a trial is severely short of entries it will only be dogs that have won 'novice' or 'AA' that will get a run - in other words the standard is higher.

If a dog wins 'novice' it cannot compete in novice again.

Thank you for that Guy.  Smile

Assuming you mean the one held on Monday in North Wales I apologise for not recording the results, John A will be able to provide them though, as he was judging.  The ground was superb, perhaps not ideally suited to Brittanys at this time of the year with the depth of cover afforded by the bracken in several places.  The event was well attended, though not competed in, by Brittany club members. Had it been a novice trial and had Dave A not been one of the guns things may have been different.  Maybe next time?

Was this a GSP Trial Wink
guy

More a case of Paul and Gill rule - well done both of them.  To think he used to have a Brittany :-)
doganjo

Is that Paul MacDonald?  Who was his Brittany from?  There is only one MacDonald on the database.  Who is Gill?
barbara

Annie,

Paul & Gill are under Pillinger & MacDonald on the database.
doganjo

Not on the Breed database - perhaps membership one.  Mr and Mrs P & L MacDonald are on there as owning Hawkwise Vadim. Are they the same?

It would be December/January when the bracken has been hit by a few frosts!  I couldn't even see a Munsterlander!  Some dogs did get nice ground but we were unlucky enough to get two runs in thigh high bracken where you couldn't see a thing.  Had a really lovely retrieve but no points.  A third run was in some reedy grass but was blank.
guy

join the club for dogs hat don't get the run they deserve.
