Ta. Any news regarding what's happening on the Saturday. I've just checked the club calendar and it's completely empty for Feb'.
Pippa's Pack

This is great - we need to spread the word.  Annie please will you inform everyone through Breed Notes and, no doubt, Paul will do the same.
johnhod

Are we too late to get it in the newsletter?  Or should I say is the club too late to get it in there?
guy

I have made this a global announcement.

If the 'club' asks i would send it out to all 145 members by email.

Eddie, I am not sure. Normally John A is involved with the organisation of the training but at the moment we are still very much tied up with FT's (still one to run) and I know John is also very busy at work. If I get chance I will ask him if we have a rough idea of what may or may not be on offer.
guy

I did not think there were Saturday events other than in October.
Mugi

We have done training days on Saturdays before the feb and june open shows - it is what got me and Mugi started Laughing .
johnhod

Sue's right, in fact October is the only one when there is usually no training, due to all the other events that are taking place.  This year though we had the Friday afternoon session.

The last two June training sessions have been at Stanford but the February sessions have been at Catthorpe.

As Treasurer of the  Brittany Club of Great Britain, could I please ask the Administrator of this forum to email all members of the forum to advise them that online entry is available for the February Show on Sunday 15th February.
Many thanks.

I haven't heard from John as yet but if we are going ahead with a Training Day the day before the Show I will post details on here as usual.  I will need to verify with Ligita at Catthorpe that the Cafe is available and also accommodation, as soon as I have the go ahead from John.

I am afraid so, the final proof of the newsletter went back to the printers at the end of last week.

Hopefully, it will go on the club website.

You don't remember my initial humiliation at the paws of a Brittany then  Laughing

Sorry. I realise that people are busy with trials and things and didn't mean to hassle anyone.
guy

just been reminded we catered for a June one :-)
doganjo

Hmm, a senior moment, Guy Wink

I've emailed all Brittany owners on my own address book to let them know the schedule and entry form are on the  Fosse data website as well as the online entry facility.
johnhod

Any news on the Saturday yet?

Online entry submitted for the show, but I need plenty of training with Ben
doganjo

No idea - Sue might know.
Mugi

Sue does know!

At the moment we are pretty sure that we will have no facilities at Catthorpe (unless Annie has had a reply to her query). Certainly there will be no B&B available as they are all ready committed I believe.

We feel we do not want to let people down but are also conscious that Feb can be very cold and inhospitable!! We do have access to the pasture land that is normally used for the TAN etc as long as weather is good enough.

So (will be chatting to John A at the FT tomorrow time permitting) our current thoughts are that we will be offering training but with the proviso that if the weather is appalling it may be called off at short notice. If people are interested we will see if we can either use the pub or the farm shop for lunch and we will need to check car parking. That side of thing has not yet been persued as we have the Open FT tomorrow and the christmas break has got in the way. Certainly coffees etc will need to be brought in a flask sadly unless the Cafe is available which seems unlikely.

Training at the moment is in planning along similar lines to previously - basics, more advanced and I personally am happy to run my modified "Dog Games" as a warm up/bit of fun but with an emphasis of control and relationship building. John has approached Fiona W who is happy to offer her services.

John is keen to continue with the Steve Kimberley book as a basis to progressive training with the ultimate aim of introducing people who have limited opportunity to the chance to train for Spring Pointing and SGWC (or better still FT's).
guy

Perhaps you could consider hiring Steve for a day - I went under him on an HPR training day and learned a lot.  Or book a whole day for the club at his place.

I wonder if it is worth thinking about offering training days in parts of the country the organisers live - there would not then be the problem of organising third parties at a distance.  And a variety of alternatives would be available easily, catering can be out of the back of a kitchen or garage etc etc.
Lin Dyke

Have just entered on-line for the club show and Crufts  Smile  So easy, highly recommend this facility  Cool   It's great to have instant confirmation too  Very Happy
My only query is how do I ensure we get a catalogue as there didn't appear to be any way of reserving one when entering on-line  Question
Patricia

I go with Guy for the training thing: It would be good to have a different trainer in order to get a different perspective...
Everyone has a various ways to " put things across" as well as ways of doing things...
I have entered the show...on paper Confused
johnhod

Lin  It's been a long time (last night) since I used the on line entry but I think there was a button that said but items (or something similar) and the catalogue was on here, along with rosette donations and the like.
doganjo

Yes, that's right - all enter online shows on fosse data have that facility - buy purchases - sounds like you can buy bits and pieces for your dog but it's not, it's things like catalogues etc
Lin Dyke

thanks for that, I'll give it go now.
eddieh

I found online entry for Crufts was quite easy (with a little help from a friend. Ta Annie) once I tried using an account with some money in it  Embarassed  Embarassed . I've yet to enter the Brittany Club show
doganjo

Go for it, Remi - show your Dad how its done! Wink
eddieh

Well, somebody'll have to  Laughing
Lin Dyke

Can't seem to go back in to amend entries, so will contact Fosse Data tomorrow.  Thanks again for the tip about the "buy items" button (or whatever it is.) Hopefully I'ill be "heads-up" next time I enter on-line  Wink
