Behaviour

I have always known my late WSS was not the ideal role model. In the week since he has gone a certain Breton is so much more relaxed........

Today two firsts, asleep on the rug and curled up tight asleep on the sofa with me. Disloyal as it sounds this could be a real positive in Chase's development.

Previously the only place Chase relaxed totally was his crate - a permanent sanctuary which will not be moved but I have to say that having him cuddled by my feet is lovely Very Happy .

One thing you mustn't do is feel guilty about it either.  Freddie had a good life with you, and Chase will not take his place, but it is nice having a cuddly dog.  Almost as nice as having a boyfriend  Wink  Laughing  Laughing

Oh ye of little faith....Sean Bean will never be 'scraggly' any way there is always Harper Twisted Evil

I don't really feel guilty about thinking disloyal thoughts about Freddy, it is hard in a sense to have such a clear acknowledgement about how little the others seem to miss him and how much more relaxed things are though.

As for a boyfriend/husband - will stick with the dogs, they are much less demanding Laughing . Although a friend and I were discussing the one thing you really miss living alone is .................... a non-complicated, no hidden meanings HUG at times.

Err - now Sean Bean, past his prime and I am fussy Laughing  Wink (also I seriously don't like his voice).

Daragh O'Malley - yes Jan, I can see that attraction more Cool .

Not really got an object of lust at the moment ...... does this mean I am getting old?????
Patricia

It never cease to amaze me how much dogs can pick up on " atmosphere", tension and other factors. From other dogs or people. You just need to observe body language to read a story of how each dog feels.
Though Brittanys are actually easy going compared to others Confused
My son's Cirneco's body language is incredibly more complex and any tension between people and that is him off his food, ears flattened, haunched back and a variety of other behaviours. That dog teaches me so much, it is incredible. Cuddle wise, he will wrap his feet round your neck and is much more gentle than a Brittany... who will more likely clobber you in the face with paws or grab your nose Rolling Eyes
Alan sits on the other sofa, I just cuddle Danny-the Cirneco- Wink

You can send Alan up her for a cuddle - Sean Bean hasn't a look-in Wink  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing   And who in their right minds wuld be called after a vegetable that has such horrendous properties at times! Wink  Wink  Wink  Wink  Wink

You are sooooo busted Patricia ................... all the times you have reminded me about setting rules and boundaries.

I have seen you with Danny and from now on any remarks you make to me about such things are going to be coloured.

Danny is the most spoilt lad and I am convinced he is your surrogate grandchild Wink  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing . Mind you he is stunning so I can understand.

Oh Dear I have been caught out! I forgot you saw that very spoilt dog...
Mind you, no expectations there, not compulsary working pattern, allowed to do a " down" on the carpet because his belly will get cold etc... Wink simply a companion( though he will catch rabbits) and a very huggable one Cool I get dirty looks from Baileys who is always beside me evenings time if I am babysitting him! Jess simply thinks Cirneci are high maintenance Shocked Instead she has Toscane's youngest climbing on the back of the settee and her " cuddles" consist of licking you to death followed by nipping your nose, leaping onto your lap, basically taking after her grand mother...
Chase's dad always laid down at Alan's feet, snortedwhen happy and in male fashion would be with you, always near you but never OTT...

I have seen a super poster which lists 15 reasons why a dog is better than a man!  No offence to our male members but I bet we females could write a list of about 100 reasons.  Do I feel an article for the newsletter coming on?

Pat, my Brittanys are very cuddly although I must admit some more than others.  Someone asked me if the house caught fire who would I save, my husband or the dog.  My reply - no contest - the only question "which dog"!!
doganjo

I should think there might be an argument as to whether you or Brian were going to rescue which dog!

Mine are all cuddly too, but one is more assertive(pushy is a better word) about it than the others - guess which?  The little ragbag I bred myself!

As I pushed Julia out the door i would make sure she carried a couple of dogs whilst I picked up the last  Laughing

I just knew you were surgically attached to that! Wink

By the way, congrats to Gay and Brian's Chloe for her Reserve Green star at the European Winners Show in Dublin yesterday.  Judge was Stefan Sinko from Estonia who is authorised to judge all breeds in all FCI groups.

Bet she got an extra cuddle for that!

(BOB, CACIB and GS dog was Harry and Cynthia's E Veep; reserve CACIB and Res GS was Fiona & Simon's Berry; Reserve BOB, CACIB and GS bitch was THAT Mabeleen, as Gill calls her :-); and the reserve CACIB bitch was David and Sophie's Cliathan Pip)  If anyone wants and explanation of the Irish system of judging please don't ask me  Rolling Eyes  Wink

This is my feeble attempt!!

MAN OR DOG?

NO MATTER HOW MANY PAIRS OF SHOES YOU HAVE, YOUR DOG WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT...

A DOG NEVER ASKS YOU WHAT IS WRONG...HE INSTINCTIVELY KNOWS THAT WHEN YOU ARE NOT WELL, HAVE A HEADACHE, TIRED...

A DOG BELIEVES YOU WHEN YOU TELL HIM THAT YOU HAD COFFEE WITH YOUR GIRL FRIEND AND TALKED FOR THREE HOURS...AND MOST OF IT WAS ABOUT HOW WONDERFUL YOUR DOG IS AND HOW GREAT HER CAT IS...

A DOG DOES NOT CARE IF ALL YOU CAN BE BOTHERED TO MAKE FOR TEA IS A COUPLE OF CRACKERS AND CHEESE AND ANOTHER COFFEE...

A DOG COULD NOT CARE A LESS WHETHER YOU FORGOT TO BUY A PAPER, FORGOT THE LOTTO TICKET, OR SPENT YOUR LAST $30.00 ON AN ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH...

A DOG WILL HAPPILY WAIT FOR HALF AN HOUR WHILE YOU TRY ON ANOTHER DRESS...

A DOG HAS NO INTEREST IN LEARNING HOW TO OPERATE THE REMOTE CONTROL FOR THE TELLY...
Pippa's Pack

A DOG DOES NOT CARE IF YOU LOOK A MESS

A DOG WILL NOT TRADE YOU IN FOR A YOUNGER MODEL

A DOG LOVES EVERYTHING YOU COOK

A DOG DOES NOT MIND IF YOU SCRAPE THE CAR

A DOG DOES NOT THINK IT IS A BETTER DRIVER THAN YOU ARE

A DOG BELIEVES YOU ARE REALLY INTELLIGENT
guy

A little test to find who loves you more.  Your wife or your dog?
Put you wife and the  dog in the boot of the car and shut the lid .

Open the boot after 20 minutes to reveal the answer.
