Good grief - looks more like South America's storms than mainland Britain. Hope this isn't a foretaste of Global Warming!

Here in Canterbury (NZ) we have a famous strong wind called "The Nor-Wester" and when it bows - oh boy!
I was at a show once when the famed nor-wester reached gale force proportions. At least this wind is dry, but the damage it did was awesome. Tents were ripped out of the ground,people were blown off their feet and the place was in uproar. We didnt stay around long enough to find out if the show was cancelled, but I remember it as it was the first and only time we abandoned showing our dogs as soon as we got to the showgrounds. |
