That's no good - every breed note writer in the paper will mention that!

How about -
Despite the rain the dogs seem to be sensing the change in season, there is a chill sometimes in the air to the point we have had a fire lit in the evening; the cool seems to have intensified their desire to hunt. With only a few weeks to go until the field trial season starts in earnest I suddenly relaise how many of those 'things to do' over the summer still await attention and will so wait until next year.
Why do we forgive them everything when they are asleep dreaming and steaming gently in front of an open fire?
Ah the joys of a dual purpose dog!

Are you waxing poetical Guy Not sure she can put that now you have posted it up here.....everyone will have read it [if you count the lurkers]

So people actually read the forum. Does that make it a useful service to provide?

Sooo are you saying that we actually have to READ this stuff
|
johnhod

Don't worry Jan. You only have to read it. You don't need to understand it
In fact I'd worry if you did understand half of what's written here

So would I

Now I'm worried. The only bits I don't understand are the serious bits

Sorry for blip last week - not my fault, they were sent in on time but they mixed them up. So a bumper issue next week. Might be a gap of a week as I'm off to Norway on Friday to Monday judging.

Let's hope that pig flu has not reached there yet. Mike is lying on the sofa moaning and groaning that he has the flu. Obviously picked it up down the Pig and Abbot

As you know Annie writes breed notes for Our Dogs, Margaret Green also writes breed notes for Dog World. Both do a stirling job but they need your support. Please copy both of them in on any Brittany related information, stories, facts, news so that they can make sure the Brittany receives as much exposure as possible in the dog press.
Be aware, however, that they work to guidelines so they will have first editorial control over any thing submitted to them and the papers may well edit items further, or decide not to print them.
I'm sure both Annie and Margaret will credit you with the information when they send it in so here's a chance to see your name in print.
PLEASE, PLEASE send them anything you think may be suitable, whether it's serious or funny.
Deadline is Tuesday night, so get typing now, even if you're as slow as me you should be able to get it finished by next Tuesday.

Thanks, John. Our Dogs policy is not to edit anything sent in by their Breed Reps so I have the responsibility. Please help me by sending accurate information, and give me dates if appropriate so that I can hold back items for future weeks when have nothing to print.
Thanks again
Annie
