Cainine First AidI am going to do a course on Sunday and am really looking forward to it. Because of my nursing background (trauma) I have always been fairly confident dealing with my dogs but I hope to learn plenty and will share any tips I pick up via the forum (accepting that some of the stuff won't be easy to share by the written word). |

Well, what a comprehensive and interesting day.
Not a great deal I can share on a forum as it was very hands on apart from "know what is normal for your dogs then you will be able to spot the abnormal" - obvious really but how many of us do for example know the normal pulse range of our dogs from rest to activity? Probably the one most useful piece of easily shared info is the fact that the American Poisons Centre http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/poison-control/ will also provide advice outside the US (ok you will almost certainly be charged but in an emergency apparently the info is very comprehensive and may be better and quicker than you will get from your vet). |
