Club Show and AGM

I have just done my entry to the club show on- line Laughing   .  After the show is the club's AGM - I hope many members will stay or even arrive for this.  There are several committee members and officer posts that need members votes; when the agenda is published on the club web site I will make sure there is a link placed here to it.   There is still time to offer your services as a committee member - get your nominations back to Paul Yarrow the Club Secretary by the end of January.
guy

Does anyone have a link for the AGM agenda?  as I cannot find it.
Patricia

Has the committee received the AGM Agenda?
Alan

I think it came be email.  If no one else forwards it I'll send it on tonight when I get home.  I did notice that there were a few returned mails when I tried to forward something the other night.
Mugi

I have received a copy. Derr, should have checked my email and this thread properly Rolling Eyes  Laughing .

It is now on the club website in the members area.

There are a lot of committee spaces and the role of chairman to elect - I hope and encourage as many members as possible to attend.  The club constitution does not allow for postal or proxy votes.

Just out of interest....I didn't think you could post unless you were logged in. Is it different on here Guy Question  Question Perhaps that is the user's name Exclamation  Exclamation  Wink

Nope, must be possible to post as a Guest - no-one of that name on the member list.  Somebody there called 'h' though  Wink  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

Ah...found it by logging into the members area. Indeed lots of vacancies...What is important is that we are the " custodians" of this pure French breed for the short lenght of our life time. We owe it to retain it as good if not better than our predecessors leave it. To carry on promoting this Best HPR working breed,  keep it true to its French standard and do the necessary health tests.
As for the committee, to be there for its members, to help, to work for the betterment of the breed and not the individual dog.

Is this something which could be remedied? I'm not sure it's a good idea to allow posts from guests.

that should have sorted it.  Try now eddieh.

i will leave the 'guest' posts as they made valid points.   The first 'guest' was in fact a member (checkied ip address) so must have forgotten to log on.
eddieh

Had to log in. What a shame we have to be on our guard because of a handful of idiots! It would be nice to be more open, but in this particular instance I think we have more to lose than gain.
guy

Don't forget - the club AGM is after the club show this Sunday.  Please please attend - there are quite a few committee members to elect and also a new chairman or woman -after 16 years.  so really important as this marks a new phase of club history starting.
guy

Well that was a well attended AGM - two very good candidates for Chair with Alan Rush being elected 24 to 21 votes.

A new era dawns for the club in the UK.  Laughing
doganjo

Yes, a close drawn vote, and a good team I think.  I was exhausted when I finally got home a few hours ago, seemed to have got a second wind - now fading again so off to bed.

Maybe with the dawning of a new era we can look forward to this forum once more having a link to it on the BCGB website.

It must seem unusual to people visiting it that you can link to the working HPR forum and a whole host of websites (that don't all provide a reciprocal link) yet you can't link to this forum, which is dedicated to the breed.

Almost forget, Alan's luck must really have been in on the day.  Not only did he win the election for chair but he also took the star prize on the tombola
Jim

Congrats to Alan and everyone
Sorry we couldn't be there..... Sad
Ghilliegumdrop

Not only did he win the 'STAR' prize he left it hidden under the radiator behind the door Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes Where, I believe, it still resides Exclamation

Do you think it will send us a postcard Question  Twisted Evil  Twisted Evil

Congratulations to Alan on becoming our new Chairman
Sorry I couldnt be their at the AGM.
Hopefully as the saying goes,a New broom always sweeps clean Laughing
Patricia

Thanks Joanne...You and several others were missing, but you are forgiven Wink
For those who don't know Alan: We farm in Suffolk and have owned Brittanys for 22 years, the first from Stan Smith who would only sell us a bitch if we worked her. We promised this lovely gentleman we would not let him down and have kept our promise... Cool
Alan has been shooting all his life ( with Labradors until I came along: ) Shocked and he now both shows and works  our dogs- also entering trials from time to time- He likes to organise training days which we have held for several years now...Especially for more novice handlers and young dogs. He lets the BC have the use of the farm for spring pointing tests.
We have 6 Brittanys, I drag Alan to several parts of France looking at kennels in view to bring in dual purpose lines and he never grumbles Rolling Eyes
He will happily show in France and we also hope to go and trial over there too when the dog is ready. But...that he does not know yet!!! Confused
For those who attended the AGM , Alan would like to say a big Thank you and looks forward to meeting and helping club members...

Reciprocal links are always requested - you can't force people and it's better to have these sites on our own site than not.  As to the link from the Club website that is up to the Committee and should be brought up on there if you feel it should be re-instated.  You're on the Committee so have the right to ask.

Yes it was a long day on Sunday and I also congatulate Alan on winning the ballet. I think there were 2 really good candidates for the chair in Alan and Kathy both right up there with the best of them and who ever won I feel would give there best to the club. I am sure Kathy as still vice-chairman and Alan as chair will work together for the good and benefit of the Brittany club and help push the club well into the 21 century.

Gill and a happy Mabeleen

Wearing a personal hat - i have a site with a link to the club but there is no reciprocal link to mine.

As to forum link - I think the clubs web sub committee are responsible for deciding.

Did you ask for one recently?  I didn't receive the request if you did, so my apologies.  The website sub-committee is Margaret, me and Donald now, since Jayne is no longer on the Committee.  Feel free to ask, anyone, if you want to go on our links page - the more the merrier.
Lin Dyke

Belated congratulations to our new Chair and Vice-chair and newly elected/re-elected committee members.  Sorry we weren't there, had intended to be but things have been a bit "full on" of late  Rolling Eyes
