committee members and club officersWould committee members and club officers think of putting a rider into their signature to remind readers that the views or opinions they have expressed are personal.?

I will think about it but may not remember

As I am computer illiterate could you please explain what a rider means.
I think this is all getting a bit fascicle and all too politicly correct as is society in general.
What on earth is a forum for if it is not to express your views
Before you write anything you will have to be thinking " should I say that or not"
surly we are all adults and know how far to go. Same as the posting that was removed from the forum why what was wrong with that we all had our say and that was that.
Please can we restore some kind of normality

Rider - sorry shows my age up :-) something that tags on at the end as a sort of don't forget.
deleted posts - the truth will out, it always does.

I agree with Joanne...It is even more PC in the UK!
When you are passionate about a subject, things can get heated But I don't feel it is offensive or we would get moderated...
Try reading some of the French posts where as a race we are more emotional! ( maybe not Yorkshire hein Joanne )

I can see where Guy is coming from... but ...as the new "forum" name no longer alludes to the "club" is there any need for such a rider
Just my own thought

And a very valid one now you come to mention it. Isn't it?

A perfect title, I think. And an excellent new owner. So many really good changes that I had no idea could be done. And perhap......... maybe even freedom from 'watchers'?

For those who want to add a disclaimer/rider all you need to do is click on "Profile" at the top of the page. Scroll down about half way and you'll see a label "signature" type your disclainer in their. along with anything else you want to appear after every post you make. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Submit" that's it, done.

Well something seems to be right and working...As there are more people joining who hopefully will particpate in discussions. More opinions , more knowledge. Many experiences which may come useful to others...
Great job Guy and John , Anne, you should have let them have it earlier it would have saved you a lot of grief

Yes, perhaps I should, but I didn't know what the future ws going to hold, well now I know who my real friends are, don't I?

I know where you are coming from Annie - at least we know our enemies!
Could I suggest that a team building course would be in order?
Jayne

Hi Jayne are you well and how is Richard
I fancy one of those courses were lots of mud is involved
|
Jayne Cutler
|
Hi
Rich is doing really well thanks, he even threatened to dig out his old leopard skin leotard when I told him about the 'mud bath'.
Paint balling might be a good alternative. You could tell who was the most popular by the number of paint splashes!

Don't think we should go there Jayne.....I take it you are coming to the weekend Shall I save you a place on our table, I think we may be on the one stuck up the corner However, I will endeavour to save some sloe gin/vodka and others boozy stuff for our imbibement.......I don't see why Joanne should be the only one to have fun in the bushes

Rich has just seen the reply back and he likes the sound of the bushes and is coming in camouflage kit. I think this operation has changed him in more ways than one.

I don't want to be anyone's enemy,ánd I'm not sure I know who mine are. I had hoped I didn't have any. I think you might be right about team building, though. But I'm not sure how we could put it in practice being all so far apart. As I see it we all want the best for our breed but sometimes our own particular views on how to achive that get mixed up in the overall plan.

You're going all phyllysopical again Annie.....
How about a team building weekend just for us 'girls' Running through the woods shooting paintballs at men is my idea of FUN, just think we could build a few mantraps and do things to them at our leisure
Anybody got Sean Bean's phone number If Bill came with us we could get Big U's number as well and make sure there's a bike shed

there is a paintball place about 500 yards form here - i am sure i could organise something.

My son went on such an activity and...hated it. He said it was really painful, he came back full of bruises( and I can assure you he is pretty tough )
One ball hit him in the head!

I used to design team building days - but as you all now have a handle on my sense of humour you may not wish to 'go there'

Jim's been on one of those paintballing things, he and his son Jon were the only survivors
Jayne, great to hear Richard is doing so well
So, is a leopard skin theme going to feature in the dress code at the Gala Dinner
|
Jayne Cutler
|
Hi
I think there should be a fancy dress competition one year at the dinner to raise money for the rescue fund. I am sure we would get some great designs especially from one certain man.

Just caught this thread -- mud baths and paint balling !!! At least you lot were not at Darlington !!! Mud baths a plenty , especially for some idiot that did not take her wellies!!! Went in sandals - they will never be the same again! Showing for 25 years and still never learn do I.
Hopefully Catthorpe will not be like that

Rich takes his wellies everywhere in Wales. Even when the sun is shining. Still don't know what he gets up to.

When I was a child I was told not to wear my wellingtons when it was sunny - as it encouraged the rain to come back.
