Weren't Pedigree cutting back their marketing before the programme?

This bit in the Guardian seems a bit more of a blow

The BBC has appointed a scientific panel to assess the evidence in the documentary. If the panel backs the film, the corporation is to stop broadcasting the event after more than 40 years. The findings are expected next month.

Uhh Exclamation   We and all the dogs featured, will, surely, be dead by then.. Question

Having re-read this thread, I realise I got the wrong end of the stick  Rolling Eyes

Well, after we all moan like mad about the coverage of Crufts would we really miss the BBC?

I am sure there is lots of money involved but Crufts is (allegedly) primarily a Dog Show and in many showing peeps eyes - the pinnacle of where they can get with their dogs. Pedigree, BBC, RSPCA, Dogs Trust should not be able to detract from that.

One added bonus possibly if it became slightly lower profile would be fewer people hassling dogs on benches!!

Pedigree withdrew from all Championship Shows some months ago, but said they would maintain their interest in Crufts.  This has now been withdrawn.

And fewer dogs being clouted on the head by bags of assorted goodies as people try to move around.
I've only been to Cruft a few times as a spectator rather than an exhibitor but have been struck by the lack of courtesy shown to dogs and exhibitors by some people.

Just had a query, re Cruft's, from Australia. My friend's sister rang and told her there was an article in the Telegraph saying that Cruft's may not take place..............anyone seen it as we have thrown our copy away Question

Pedigree will be in attendance, but not sponsoring Crufts...Hills is also withdrawing...What it will mean: There should be more room. Very Happy
Purina will still be there though!  Wink
I agree with Sue and Crufts not being so " commercial" .maybe.

Sometimes I think you are a bit too obtuse for our own good Laughing  Laughing

Well I read it as pedigree dogs who are fit to perform the function they were originally bred for. Is that too wide of the mark?

Actually, reading it again, it would include my interpretation but not be restricted to it.
