Hi Anne...it was actually shown on British TV where animals attacked humans, including a wolf who badly attacked a child...

A couple of springs ago I had a doe attack me in my back yard when I
was running 2 dogs.   She had a fawn (they fawn in my back field every year) and apparently I was pretty close to it.  She rammed me good and hard and chased the younger dog when it came back to me.
I had a good shoulder bruise from it.
Our Mule deer are getting much more acclimated and less fearful of dogs and people as the population takes up their territory.  There was a video clip of some local school kids having a race (cross country run) and a young doe went up to a boy and started to lick him like a gian salt lick, then kept trying to mount him and hold him so she could keep licking him.
It was a bit funny to watch.
Ever see a Jack Rabbit (large hare) chase a Coyote??? Seen that too...the coyote had caught another and was carrying it off with the Hare leaping at the Coyote's butt...that was really funny to see.

Since they reintroduced Wolves into the NW there have been increased dog kills and fun killing of game since the Elk and Deer have lived mostly predator free for so long the Wolves are having a free for all and in many cases not even eating what they kill.   So maybe it has awakened the defense genes in Deer and Elk.

Not sure we have coyotes in the UK Wink and we certainly don't want wolves and bears like that idiot in the Highlands tried  to do. Rolling Eyes
Pippa's Pack

We have a large number of muntjak deer in our woods.  They normally keep clear of both dogs and humans but several dogs have been injured and needed stitching.  If cornered they can be quite fierce.
