Anything it can get it's teeth on Twisted Evil

Seriously, L'epagneul Breton or Brittany can be fed on virtually any good dog food. Laughing I feed mine the cheapest I can find that keeps their coats shiny, and keeps them fit Wink (I am retired and have 3 Bretons and a GWP, as well as poultry, rabbits an cats, so have to watch the pennies a little bit) - I have found a good one with molasses which they love. The food store I get it from calls it 'high energy' but it is only 22% protein, and not too high in fats, it's their own brand. They seem to do well on it, but no name I'm afraid. Some people feed raw but I'm not keen on it. I sometimes add raw eggs(my birds provide that) and microwaved bits of game when in season and which has become soggy freom being in and out of the freezer and has been over retrieved Rolling Eyes

Is the question what do the French feed their dogs? As far as i can see on the French Forum - much the same as we do. Mainly complete diets.

Mine are on green tripe with occasional whole bones, some veg bits and a squirt of salmon oil once or twice a week. If I had a pound for everyone who asked me what I put on their coats to make them so glossy.........

It was pointed out to me the other day a dog needs three things for a good coat - a home, food and happiness.

The happiness value would be correct when you consider when we umans are not happy our hair and skin are usually the first to react!! I think because the Breton is such a happy little dog for them to be worried is certainly not good for them...I am leaving for a week in the South Island to attend the national field trial champs and my boy is so sad...he has spent the evening (as I pack the ute) bringing me his toys and bones...wish I could take him with me, but not this time... Crying or Very sad
