Doing it the French way!

There are diffrent fields of thoughts on how to start off a puppy for work. Some are of the opinion to do all the obedience first...some to let the passion run through the veins of a pup to spark off the hunting instinct for birds.
I received some photos of my little pup Darcy in France. At 4 months, I have pics of him: in a field of cows, running with a tea towel, nose to nose with the chickens. Now, pointing a partridge with his brother and other mate, retrieving the same partridge- dead-. Today, water retrieve in the sea, apparently not straight away  Cool but he did it!
When he comes here, what else will be left!!!
That is the French way..passion and more passion!!!! Wink

I think it is easier to put the stop on a fast dog rather than 'geeing' up a slow one.

To run in on a retrieve is fun and improves marking - look at park dogs who chase tennis balls, they rarely hunt around for them but go straight to the fall.
