Well, that's it by for another year - loads of competitors want to come back, they all loved the ground, and all the game!
Just as well we had it yesterday though - we had coldish weather, but the sun came out and it wasn't too windy for scenting. Today we have gale force winds carrying sleet, there is snow lying at the back door, and the temperature is down to 2 degrees - not pleasant field trial weather.
We had almost every HPR breed except the Brittany so I entered my Freckles on the day to keep the side up knowing full well she'd possibly be scared of the gunfire(She had a scare at a Club weekend when a dummy launcher was set off far to close to her - 4 dogs have had the same reaction from that event! She has been shot over since, but she just couldn't handle the proximity, frequency and volume yesterday)
Unfortunately she was really wound up by the time her turn came - she was last to run, or 'not run' more like it! She clamped herself to me leg and said, I'm not leaving you Mum, somebody might shoot me - Hmm yes, probably ME
Never mind - it was good fun, and better weather than today, that's for sure
1st was a GWP bitch, 4th went to a GSP owned by our trainer
