Freddy 12/3/02 - 21/5/09Today I have very sadly said goodbye to my WSS.
Freddy always was a mixed up boy from the time he came here at 13 months having been in a kennel all his life and physically abused. Over the years he matured into a truly special boy - albeit with some challenging behaviour .......... sofa snacks being a speciality and I am furnished by e-bay or freecycle. Apart from sharing some difficult times in my life he has by necessity been the catalyst to me learning as much as I do about dogs.
Over the recent weeks Freddy had gradually been going backwards in terms of behaviour, all the boys were uncomfortable together and Freddy bit me. Basic investigations showed nothing wrong and all indications were pointing to a brain issue.
After a lot of soul searching and a long chat with the vet when Chase was in earlier today for his routine vaccs brought me to the final, difficult decision point so Freddy went to sleep, in the same place as Mugi quite literally, in my arms on the floor of a consulting room.
Losing two dogs so close together is hard for me and I think it will be hard for the others, esp Brice who has known Fred since he was 5 weeks and they have been inseperable.

Sue, I am so sorry to hear your sad news. Poor Freddy had such a bad start in life but was then fortunate enough to be homed by you, where he had love and care. As Annie said, he was not a happy boy lately. It was the best thing for him but so hard for you, especially so soon after Mugi.
May they both run free.
