Victoria

Greetings from member 324 from New Zealand

We are having a really cold variable winter this year and unfortunately only two more weeks of the pheasant season to go; when Gaston got his first pheasant it was really exciting and dare I add delicious!! Gaston is from Christine and Barry's Spice's previous litter. He is a fabulous hunter.
Orange and white, we are also enjoying exhibiting him.
Isn't our chosen breed just wonderful!! Gaston took it upon himself to 'answer' the phone; so every time it rings he comes and alerts me and escorts me to where it is placed. The first time he did this I did not know what he was doing!! If he is told off he will try and appease his midemeanours by bringing me gifts; how he thinks a slobbery old bone is going to be adequate recompense for destroying my new shoe I am not sure; I know, I know, my fault!
I am attending the nationale elevage and TAN in Beauvais in August and am very much looking forward to attending.
Very Happy

welcome

Welcome Victoria.
I have discovered that I seem to get mailor daemon emails from people trying to register on the forum. I can then check the members list to see who isn't activated.
Am trying to find out why this is happening. In the meantime all who have tried to register have been activated.

Thank you

Thank you for the welcome! This forum is absolutely fabulous! What a great way to communicate. To think there are Brittany people out there!! My only suggestion for the club is to some how move our countries closer!
So enjoy the magazine too.
The club's rescue scheme is also wonderful.
Chris, so delighted to hear that Spice is improving after her confinement. Talking about the poor cats our very large Manxie boy greeted Gaston on his arrival with a very cruel southpaw; now they play together, of course Stan (cat) denies vehemently that he would ever consider playing with the 'new kid' inspite of being shown photographic evidence to prove otherwise.
Another cold wet day in the vineyard: goats (Toggenburgs) need feeding so I had better go and attend to them.

A belated welcome from us. Have been away in Dorset, dogs totally bunny brained the whole time Rolling Eyes As a wine lover (especially "New World") would love to know what wines you produce at your vineyard.

Best wishes,
Victoria

reply to Lin re wines

Hi Lin, I work for Delegats Wine; we have strong sales in the UK especially of our Oyster Bay labels notably our Sauvignon Blanc. Our vineyard has the honour of being the third biggest in the North Island of New Zealand some 700 acres under vine. It is always a very proud moment knowing that our vines are producing grapes for export wine. Our 2006 Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc has just been recently bottled (we all get a bottle!!) so we are really looking forward to trialling it!! Our vineyard only grows Merlot and Chardonnay because of our location.
Love the photo of your owners!! As I write I am cooking a fruit cake; the recipe of it featured in the May issue of the Field. I love reading of your rural history and the photographs of your glorious countryside.

Am very familiar with Oyster Bay products as we sell lots (I work for Waitrose supermarkets). Sauv' Blanc is one of my favourite grape varieties. Could go on and on about wine....... but this is a Brittany forum, so will be very restrained. By the way, my first Brittany, the o/w in the picture, was very partial to a nice red, each finger would be dipped, then licked in turn. He even lapped at a visitors glass which they foolishly put down on the floor Shocked I must add he was never allowed to have more than a tad, just in case anyone labels me irresponsible Exclamation

Brittanys

Hi Lin, fancy you being the one who sells our wine; that is so neat; as you , say this is a Brittany forum but it has always interested me how although we are brought together through a common interest we end up finding out that we have further common interests. Bretons and burgundy well it just seems right doesnt it!!
