Would the four guests like to join us?

Guests include people who are members but are not logged in.  I try and log out when I have viewed the forum so next time I visit I get only the fresh posts.  Using a tabbed browser means the page stays open and my presence is recorded as a guest.

I never log out as Admin - does that mean I look as if I'm on here every moment ofthe day?
eddieh

Sometimes my login seems to time out, other times it doesn't. Does that make sense to anybody.
johnhod

Just had a look and only Eddie and I are logged in as members, along with 7 guests.

Annie

This has given me an idea. Why don't we have a sponsored "log in" one day. We could each promise a sum for each person logged in at the time most people are logged in on a particular day, or the most people logged into the chat room maybe. A few pennies each per person logged on would be sufficient initially, until we work out how much we can afford to donate. If my idea doesn't hold water, I'm sure somebody could develop something from it.

Edit

Actually. Given the number of people I've seen logged on at any one time, a quid would be more appropriate but I would hope that, given the publicity we could easily give to forum members, we could arrange for more members than usual to log on at a pre-arranged time on the appointed day.

What......and have a booze up at the next show Question  Question  Question
eddieh

As good as that idea is, I thought we might be able to raise a few bob for the club
johnhod

How do you see it working Eddie?  I've just re-read your original post on this and it seems to me if people are going to have to pay depending on the number of people logged on then they will stay away.
eddieh

I wasn't suggesting that any body should be required to pay to log on on a particular day, but that those who wish to donate some money might like to say that they will donate a sum per person logged on (up to a max if desired) at the peak period of a particular day/hour, if such a thing is possible to measure or at an appointed time. Some people might log on just to make those of us who are donating pay even more if they are feeling particularly evil.  It doesn't have to be a lot of money. If 10 people Logged on at the same time and donated 50p per person logged on the would each donate £5.00 which means the club would be 50 quid better off or, for example, 20 people log on, 10 are donating 50p per person logged on = £100 total. Maybe somebody could start a stupid thread just for that occasion  (101 uses for a dead hedgehog? Only one springs to mind involving sticks and toilets) so we could have a bit of fun. The hardest part would be collecting the money. It was just a thought.
guy

I would just keep taking the tablets.
eddieh

How about we settle for just having the silly threads
