Hawks and FalconsAttended a bird management lecture today re vintage protection and a group is trying to interest vineyards into keeping resident falcons (Falco novaelandiae) the birds would not be hunted with; but just live there... a question came to me with regards to hunting with Falcons and Hawks; obviously there is no retrieve from the Breton's point of view so how do you reward him/her under these circumstances; the hunt would not end in a major moment for the Breton!?

You would be best asking Steve Wright that question Victoria. His email address is in the Yearbook. Tell him I said to ask and he will bring you up to date with all the methods used.

Thank you Jan! Hope Ghilliegumdrops is well!! I would so love to use one of our native falcons in the vineyard; but because they are protected birds the red tape to go through is just huge...still may preservere with this...best of luck Sokoly, look forward in great anticipation to hearing more from on this subject...

I have asked Steve to come onto the forum and start a topic on falconry. As soon as the dratted thing is back on track he will be on here and you can all ask him any questions. Thanks Steve.
Where are you getting your Brittany from Sokoly, do you know the breeding yet? Isn't it amazing the places these little dogs worm their way into? We even saw some really good ones in NZ.....go Spice, Sophie, Folly and Gaston.

Jan, thank you so much for asking Steve to come onto the forum; wow!!! Cannot wait to read what he has to say...these little dogs alright; off work with a terrible cold/flu typey thing and am being kept excellent company by my dear wee boy!!!! I know the Breton is very clever, but I cannot get mine to get me a cuppa tea yet...should I talk to his breeder about this?!!!!!
