just saying hi

Hi, my name is Sallie and have a Brittany called Monet who is now nearly one. Monet seems to be an accident prone Brittany and is just getting over breaking his foot - his own fault as he thought he could chase a squirrel up a tree! Monet is Black and Roan unusual but pretty as people call him; he loves to hunt and point, but forget retreiving...although i did have a break through the other day when he picked up the dummy for about 5 seconds! Anyway i am 45 and a mature student studying criminal justice at plymouth uni - i have 3 grown up lads and another dog called poppy - she is a springer cross collie, but more springer as she is a good all-rounder. I expect that you will hear from me soon as i always need suggestions on how to train Monet!!

Hi Sallie

Welcome to the forum. Have you got a photo of Monet that you could share with us?

You'll find a wealth of knowledge about Brittanys among the members of this forum. I'm glad to say they are always prepared to offer advice and assistance, or I'd be struggling even more than I am, as a newcomer to the world of the brittany (my dog was one yesterday and I only got him when he was 9 months)

Sallie - welcome.

Pictures of Monet can be found here - http://www.epagneulbreton.org.uk/gallery/monet/monetIndex.php

Check out the HPR forum for training advice as well - link on Annies posts -

Please remember - no question is to basic.

Welcome to the Forum, Sallie and Monet.
Where did you get him from? I always ask the breeding of new members dogs - can't help myself, I have this need to know about pedigrees to see if there are familial ressemblances, so my apologies fro repeating the question. Hope you enjoy being on here. Feel free to ask absolutely ANYTHING.

Hello Sallie,

Welcome to the Forum.

Monet is a very handsome chap. We have a Britgit, Rudi (our second) and a Springer, Zac. Josh was my first Brittany, way back in the late eighties. Our home will always, hopefully, have at least one of these wonderful dogs.

Josh would try to climb trees for squirrels too Rolling Eyes
