Nationale & TANsI have just read that the Nationale next year will not have a TAN either due to high costs in their organisation.Any British person having the desire to pass what is essentially a very French test may take it in the North of France ie Brittany, Normandy or the Pas de Calais. I cannot remember a Nationale without a TAN before, maybe I stand to be corrected... Just thought I would pass the info on... |

That is really sad - I do hope they are not going down the show route alone. I vaguely remember a previous NE where there was a shortened version of the Tan so they could have their AGM early in the afternoon then the dinner at night. As I've said before it's too far for my dogs, but I do enjoy watching the TANS (and the Trial as well last time I was there.) |

The " norm" is a TAN. I had never experienced a summer trial at a Nationale.
I have been asked by the French- naming no one-if we did this for " fun" or did it go on the pedigree. And that the Forum was independant from the CEB etc etc...Politics again. I had mentionned that some were disappointed that no TAN was to take place, and I don't know if it will in future years? Not in 2010 anayway. I really liked the REEP ( water retrieve) and had fun seeing Rudy de la Saga des Marais hauling everyone's ducks when refused. And the jovial atmosphere with Jean Louvet paddling in the pond etc... Pity... |

Well, I am disappointed that Chase can't do a TAN this summer (well I know he could but finances etc are such that I prob can't get him back to France to do it while he is 'in age'). I know he has passed his BCGB TAN but I wanted to do the French test to judge how he would be viewed in France - so not for fun as such but certainly as a serious gauge of what the french thought of his ability. |
