Nationale GenouillyThese are the results from the French Forum. Both dog and Bitch...are Black. Well done to the best of breed winner bred by Jean Jacques Volelli, a consciencious exhibitor and breeder.
Effectivement une femelle B/N qui gagne cette Nationale. Très belle chienne. ( Beautiful bitch who wins this Nationale)
C'est aussi un B/N qui gagne pour les mâles: Astuce de Trémouard à P. Cardin. (It is also a Black who wins in males.)
En élevage, ce sont les St Alamo de Mr Moulin qui gagnent (Breeding, the St Alamo)
En Lot d'élevage ce sont les St Lubin de Mr Desprez ( progeny, the St Lubin)

What was the name of the winning bitch, Patricia?
Were there any British there this year - Guy, you were there I think, anyone else?
|
Patricia
|
The winning bitch was Chipie de la tour de Broue, by Ramy ( grand daughter of the famous Lurky des Sources Claires).178 dogs present
I see the CAC in Orange went to Briska de Sous les Viviers, a near sister to Chriss -which I have now imported-
Guy was there, it will be up to him to report his news!!
Next year
(la NE de 2009 aura lieu le premier week end de juillet à Gujan Mestra 33 près de Bordeaux. C'est l'équipe de Maryse, Benoit Baudet et Jean Louis Salaun qui s'en occupreront.)
This is near Arcachon, south of Bordeaux the 3rd, 4 th of July.
We will be there as it is a much better time of year which won't clash with harvest.

we took Exc & placed 2nd in femelle orange blanc intermediare. The 1st placed bitch in our class took OW CACS.
I am now the very proud owner of a red card!
I would commend everyone to take their dog to THE French National Show.
1. Good critique at the time.
2. The experience of the judges in France is second to none.
3. You meet people from all over Europe interested in the breed.
4. OK there are some rough dogs but my goodness there are dogs there to die for!!!

Congratulations Guy and Catja. I agree that showing in France is the " ultimate experience " for me... and having that expert evaluation gives a deep sense of " being in the right direction" .
At least, you are not judged on handling!

Come to England for the 5th October - the club show. If you get placed third or better in this show you would then be qualified to enter Crufts. You need a n 'authority to compete' from the Kennel Club - I will find the details tomorrow and email you.
The Kennel Club lists european shows where a win qualifies for entry to Crufts - i will try and find that as well.

quireste is in my opinion to old for crufts! but he can go there because had a qualification at the winnershow in amsterdam!
I hope I will be there with my other dog in the future.
Or maybe in the future with a new EB.
This year it is not possible for us to go there because the young dog isn't tested for rabies yet. he is too young and the time to arrange that is to short.
maybe next year we will visite england for a holiday and visite crufts just as a visitor.

Bill and I had a great time spectating. It is just so lovely to be able to see so many Britts in the one place - more in one class there than you get in a whole show here.
Congratulations to Guy and Catja

Thanks to all for your kind comments.
It was an interesting experience.
All the dogs were first measured and then all teeth were inspected - both bite and premolars. They were given a turn around the ring and then the judge visited each dog and looked at it and took notes in a little book. Another run around and then each dog went before the judge who dictated notes to a secretary who wrote into a preprinted book. The dogs were graded Excellent, Tres Bon, Bon, Assez Bon and ungraded (don't think I have missed any categories) One dog - long in the leg was put to the back very unceremoniously. The Excellent dogs were then given a 1 to 4 position and the judge then explained to all participants the good points about the first four and why he had put them in the order he had. Explaining any personal preferences he had and why. Dogs One and Two had to return once the other classes had been judged and a CACS and RCACS was chosen from all those eligible. To receive the CACS or RCACS one had to present the dogs official hip score document which had to be A or B to be eligible (0 - 24 equivalent under SCC ) (which for us had arrived at our vets the day after we left the country so a trip to MacDonalds who have an open and unrestricted WiFi allowing us to download it from our email. A friend then printed it on her computer).
After the CACS had been awarded we were able to go to the secretary and on showing our number get the official notes with grading and position noted. Also a red card with grading and position. As we were second we also were eligible for a centenary medal (to keep) which was available from the main secretary on production of the red card.
All the CACS winners then went against each other for best dog and best bitch and then best of show was chosen from those.

I always find it interesting to listen to the judge's comments on the dogs and try to follow what they're dictating to the ring scribe. My French is definitely improving as far as canine terminology is concerned
I'm sure a lot of judges in this country would find it very hard to do a commentary on their judging like that. (Of course it's against KC rules, isn't it )

It is not difficult to" dissect a dog" if you know the breed And " nice" this or that does not cut it for me!

You don't expect the KC to allow supposed knowledge to be put to the test do you?
Really liked the handler/owner/ breeder and she's judging my dog next week wouldn't go down too well either, would it?

I liked the judge at Clonmel in Ireland, she gave me a critique in the ring. So did the judge at Limerick, but they where the only two who did. Shame really, I like learning from critiques.

Anne Eissing has been very quiet So i will take the liberty of telling you her dog Boykol vom Schwanenberg (apologies for any spelling mistakes Anne) was placed 4th Graded Exc in 'Working Black and White Male'. This was a class of 12 all awarded Excellent, the dog placed first taking 'Best Dog in Show' .
Anne and Andreas and their dog/s will be with us for the October Show.

Thank you Guy, we are really very very glad about this 4th Excellent Bolko get in Genouilly. And also very happy about the Excellent Bolkos brother Brisko vom Schwanenberg get from the judge M. Toulet. They both are from our first litter, we are happy about this success and deeply thankful for the advice from Jean-Marc Binet, the breeder of their mother Ulesca du Petit Odon, to choose the right stud dog for her.
Bolko, Brisko and Brutus vom Schwanenberg at the N.E. in Germany
Congratulations for you, Julia and Catja for the first CC and BOB!

Patricia, the mother of those dogs is Ulesca du Petit Odon (the picture on the left), a daughter of Polden du Petit Odon and Phenix du Bosquet de la Mordoree, a very promising dog, sadly he was stolen at the age of 3 years and no one had heard anything from him after that. The father ist Nilton de la cite des Dianes, a gandchild of CHIB Bisska de la Cite des Dianes, the breeder ist M. Goerges Arlen.

Anne - will you be bringing Ulesca with you this year? Or how about giving Amsel a foreign holiday to see her pup :-)
|
Anne Eissing

Guy, Lesca will be pregnant at our holiday, I cannot leave my pregnant baby at home , but I can talk to Hermann and Andrea to spend Amsel a mother-child wellness spa in Hampshire with full body massage, beauty treatment and first-class-feeding !

Tell them she will be able to play with partridge and pheasants as well as look for rabbits and hares. Open wood fire to lay beside at the end of the day. Might have to put up with having ears pulled by young orange and white bitch who thinks she has to be in charge

In Germany trimming for gundogs is not very popular. Because of brittanies only were given to hunters not many of them are showed. The most huntsmen don´t like showing their dogs. The common german hunter and owner of a gundog is only attaching importance to work with the dog and don´t set a great value on showing. So the most don´t know much about trimming, gaiting and so on. In our club the most members entered their brittanies only for one time if they want to breed with them. Therefor you have to get an Excellent or Very Good.
