New home needed

http://www.syessr.org.uk/Homeless.htm

This lad has had the run around it seems, I asked if they had any background on him and this is the reply I got Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad . I heard about him from a springer forum I frequent, not my neck of the woods so I can't go see him but asked if I could crosspost to here.

"He's only been with us a couple of days so we haven't had a lot of time for him to be assessed although he doens't seem aggresive or anything. The kennels we use were sent 10 dogs from another kennels where we think he had come in as a stray (we or they haven't gotton to the bottom of why they needed to get rid of some dogs) and he was included, they asked us to take him. We scanned him and found he was microchipped to another rescue, they had rehomed him at 9 months and he was still with them in June when he had his boosters. They tried to ring this family but they just put the phone down on them so we can't find out anything about why he was no longer with them or what he was like in a home. We do know that he origianally came into resuce at 9 months becasue he was an escapologist and given that when we let him out into the run he just runs round trying to find a way out this is likely to still be a problem. We also also know that the rescue he originally came from don't want him back so he's with us for now."

Thanks Annie, was at work earlier so couldn't really do much more than the post I popped on here. I do hope he finds a good home very soon, he sounds as though he hasn't known much stability.

Escapologist?...a problem?...I spent a glorious sixteen years with a Houdini who used to barge into where I worked having escaped from home!

Hopefully we can keep this one out of rescue and find him a home. I will certainly try all my contacts. Thanks for the post.

Thanks, Peter. They haven't come back to me - I've sent two emails to the separate addresses

Annie,
We've got someone in their neck of the woods that could go and see him and would possibly take him on. Email if you have had any response, or we will get him to contact them direct.

I'm sending you a pm with further information about Baxter.

Fortunately Baxter now has a super new home and has settled well so far.
However, I have just had devastating news about Rosie, the little bitch that was found in a shed rejected and neglected by her owner with sores all over her body. The Vet who was treating her took the heartbreaking decision to give her sleep as he was unable to repair and heal a sore near her anus after having managed to cure all her other problems.  A foreign body was suspected or some other injury but they could not discover what it was.  It was felt this was the best course of action for Rosie.  She had been fostered for 6 weeks by a family who had lost their own Brittany in June at a fair old age and they are now suffering the loss of a second much loved dog.  RIP Rosie Sad

As my kids would say

That's so not fair.

let's console ourselves there are some great dogs at the rainbow bridge already.

That is very sad, poor Rosie.  Her foster family must be heartbroken  Crying or Very sad

On a brighter note....good luck to Baxter in his new home  Very Happy

I've had further information, it wasn't that he couldn't get it to heal - it never would have as she had cancer in various parts of her body.  Such a shame, she had a lovely family.

Her previous owner should be hung up and things done to him... Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad

I agree, but we cannot find out who he is without risk to others.
