Jan probably asked as Margaret Green lives near Welshpool - at Llanfair (She owns the Fosscott affix - Debbie's dogs are based on Fosscotts as are mine)

Hi Sean, what are the birds you have with you?

The hill is the "tap of the north" (I think). Its a great place with its abundance of quarry and Cleo loved it.I was hoping to go back this year but it never worked out.
The birds in the picture are Harris's hawks and are well suited to working with the brit. The old boy sat on my fist is in his 16th year now and still catches plenty, native of South America these hawks live in family groups and co-exist using teamwork so working alongside a dog is the iceing on the cake. I will try and post more pictures later.
Sean.

Tap o' Noth and the Buck are right next to each other - I always thought Tap o noth had a pointy bit on top like that one and the Buck had two humps but the other day my pal told me it was the other way round so now I'm confused so I would normally have said that was T o N.
They're both good to climb though and there's a Pictish hill fort on top of T o N, also one on top of Bennachie which is five minutes from me.

Thanks for the info. I remember last november I tried getting permission to hawk the tap o north but was turned down by the landowner. The whole ridge looked like a sort of whales back covered in lots of bracken, ideal rabbit ground! Not to worry we had lots of other suitable ground to go out and hopefully I will get back next year.
Weird that we was'nt too far away from other brittany owners, I have never seen another brit in my neck of the woods

I asked because I used to live in Shropshire, in Bayston Hill near Shrewsbury and later at Higher Heath near Prees
