Mugi

OopsOne of my boys is being featured in an article in a magazine (Piper in fact and the mag article is looking at using rescue dogs as workers - Piper cos I was asked to do the interview by ESSW who found Piper for me although Mugi also gets a mention). They want a pic to go with the Piper part of the article and as I was at work I just emailed my password etc onto my photobucket site so they could pick something and I would later email the higher resolution pic.
Not sure whether I should be proud or insulted that a magazine that is purportedly all about field sports decided a picture of Chase hunting in the snow would be an accurate representation of a middle aged ESS . I will be supplying more appropriate pics as Piper had a photoshoot yesterday but I ask you .
Chase as you can imagine is desolate that he won't be featured in The Field just yet.

You just can't beat an expert can you. Just been rewatching the Crufts Gundog coverage on Fieldsportschannel.tv and the knowledge of the woman being interviewed about the various breeds in amazing. I'm sure it was only the fact that they had the breed of dog over the stand that eabled her to identify even a lab. Wonderful comments like "This is the Bracco, I don't know much about how they work but they look like a short coated Spinone"

I'd rather someone owned up to not knowing than they gave me the wrong information I thought the Bracco was similar to a Spinone....which just goes to show

So why couldn't they find someone from among all those present who actually knew something about dogs? A description of coat length doesn't give you much idea about its working ability.

Without professionals willing to commentate for such programmes and/or magazines, maybe this is the start of the demise of dog shows being aired
