Oranges

Well here we are in the middle of January, wind blowing a gale and peeing down with rain [on and off] and I am picking oranges off my tree that is planted out in the back garden. Very nice they are too, I have discovered that they are Navel oranges and the reason it has taken this long to find out because it's the first time in 12 years that the fruit has stayed on long enough to ripen. There are 17 more oranges in various stages of development left on there and they better still be there when we get back from NZ or my grandson will have his bum smacked HARD.

Neat, Jan; our Seville is laiden too and I think we may get the first lemon this year; fingers crossed.

I presume yours is a young tree Victoria?? Our lemon tree is three years old and has been laden with fruit for the past two seasons! This year, with our tropical weather (rain, rain and more rain) the thing has gone beserk and is loaded with fruit - just in time for the lemon drinks to cure a sore throat - damn the unseasonal bugs!!
Well done on nuturing the orange tree Jan, sounds like you guys up north are having a weird run of weather too.

Yes, young trees. Had the Clementine in the wrong place but since shifting it is growing well. Cannot wait to have lemons on call!!
