Problems with GIMPI know one or two people on here use gimp so I wondered if any body could help.
I've printed a fair few photos with gimp and had no problems but am now having problems. For some reason, I just cant get the image to fit on the paper size I am using. I've set the paper size and orientation in preferences but still get only a small part of an oversized image on the paper. I do not have this problem when using Photoshop elephants but do have a calibration problem so do not want to use this.
I'm obviously forgetting something very simple but can't for the life of me think what it is.

What is Gimp?

It's image editing software. Similar to Adobe Photoshop

I see, just looked at my program list and I think I have it here but haven't used it. Is it easy to use?

Doesn't look like it from what Eddie has posted above

Not at the moment it isn't.
I suppose it's the same as Photoshop, easy or difficult as you like dependent on what you want to do with it. I can only do a few simple thing with it.

do you have an option to 'print with preview'? and if so can you turn off or adjust the scaling there?
Are you scaling the image and scaling the print size as well? Can you select a 'scale to fit media' option?
How about saving the picture as something else and trying to print the new version - loosing all the parameters you have placed on the original?
Can you place the picture in another package - word or open office and print it from there?
How about if you print it as a pdf rather than via the printer?
