puppy dog needs a home...Due to change of circumstances( house badly damaged by flood and needs 6 months rebuilding) the owners of one my puppy dogs had to go into rented accomodation. Hence they no longer feel they can keep the puppy as there also is no garden...
He is Black and White, out of Ch P Toscane, neutered and well behaved so I am told 
He is barely 7 months old. If you know anyone who would like a very nice puppy, please call me on 01986 798336, as he will be coming back to me...

Neutered - at 7 months? I know they do cats at that age but didn't think it was good for dogs? Doesn't it stunt their growth or something?

In fact Annie neutering before sexual maturity can actually end up with a longer limbed and lankier dog as hormones can have an effct on the pituitary gland. Although there are no hard and fast rules as to what will happen to a pup neutered young, I know some that are lanky, some stocky and some 'normal'.
There is a greater will in the veterinary world to neuter younger, whether to avoid leg cocking etc, to possibly guard against later hormone related cancers (more relevant in bitches I believe) or to prevent more unwanted pups I am not sure.
My personal preference is to leave my lads entire until or unless a health reason dictated otherwise. Saying that poor Piper was done yesterday as per his rescues 'rules' and I just hope that in a month or so none of the others decide he is a girl   .
My bitches (remember breeding has not been an issue) were all spayed after I had lost my first dog to pyometra but after having post spay incontinence issues in my weim I would in the future wait till after 2 seasons.

Sadly, poor little " Dougal" was castrated at 6 months which I totally disagree with  . He was one of the best puppies, and it breaks my heart for him to know I have to find the right home. But it won't be difficult at that age...
I don't find neutering changes behaviour and the only good thing is it stops them running off looking for ladies- I suppose if you have neighbours-...
They can still mate and tie even castrated ! I remember looking after a little Cairn in season and my mother in law's poodle tied!  hummm...
As for the girls, I spay them at about 7 or 8. I have been lucky with their coats apart from one -and I clipped her fluffy bits!-
No trouble with weight either, feed accordingly and exercise...

That's why I asked. I don't agree with spaying or neutering early either. I do the same as you, Patricia. my girls are usually 'done' at 7 or 8 - just thinking about having Freckles done after her next season plus 3 months, timing would have been Christmas Day if I'd done it last time. I don't castrate my boys, except for health reasons. Also if only Belle and Allez are then entire it's not a big problem if we have an 'accident' except that pups aren't selling just now. Four cocker litters in Scotland just now, 110 wire puppies, four working pointers - and goodness know how many others.

Funny Anne, I have had many enquiries for puppies lately, maybe even more than usual over the last few months 
Whether people wait for the right puppy is another story
You grill prospective owners, don't make their life that easy and still things go pear shape  hummmm.....
Still waiting to hear from Dougal's owner. He had to tell the kids they would no longer have a puppy....

This is very sad  Surely their insurance company ought to arrange accommodation that is suitable for their needs  A young family needs a garden and the family, including pets, should be kept together. Is there any chance of him being boarded or fostered, with family visits, until their home is restored Here's wishing for a happy resolution for all concerned.
