Rescues - but hens this timeJust a wee plug for the various hen rescue centres and maybe one of you will take a couple of hens to save them. These photos are two of my hens - the little featherless one is Scraggie Aggie - I got her two weeks ago and she was a lot worse then! The other is Gina and I've had her since October last year. The egg producer (Eggs from Caged Hens - DON'T BUY THEM!) gets 50p per rescued hen, the charity asks fro £1, I always give them more. My hens are ina run because of the dogs but have plenty of space, warm sheds and nests and if they don't produce eggs it doesn't matter too much. They get to go out in the front garden for about three hours most days (half an acre of grass and shrubs) The charity I support is www.bhwt.co.ukJust wanted to tell you all about rescuing these poor souls from getting their head chopped off on a conveyor belt and used for dog food.
