Rogue postings and fake MembersI have just removed some postings that were offensive - in accordance with Club Policy - and deleted the poster.
May I apologise on behalf of The BrittanyClub of Great Britain to anyone who may have inadvertently read them before I came online this morning. I would be most grateful for a text message - any time of day or night - if any more appear.
Thanks
Annie

They think it's fun.

They weren't very good jokes either

I just don't understand Some people must have very boring lives if they think that kind of thing is fun
I didn't see any of it but will certainly be aware.

I suspect the key to it is what was hiding behind the links. I wasn't tempted to find out.

Very good point . The e-mails we get, even with spam detectors etc' is ludicrous. I'm so quick to delete them that I inadvertently consigned an invite to a friends patio party 'cos it's subject was "check out my new patio". All I saw was the "check out" bit, only as I hit the delete button did I realise it was genuine It was a very good party

Now I know how Jan feels The dratted edit button has vanished Should have said I consigned a friends invite to the deleted file ...

Edit button. Actually, I haven't a patio either. I've got some slabs which have been re-arranged by subsidence over the years, but that's more of an agility course .

I don't know why these edit buttons keep disappearing. Jan's one is always going missing. Check after a while and see if they come back.

I think you've solved it
I've just looked through all the main topics and you can't seem to edit (or delete) posts in:
Club News
Breeding
Club Suggestions
Tails.
I think that the admin is the only person who can edit or delete posts in those four topics. Which would explain why Annie still has her edit button while everybody else's is missing
|
.:HayleyH:.
|
Now I also don't have an edit button

Ok will check but there are 75 +

I think you only need to change those four main topics settings, not every users settings that would take hours

Does this help?
How do I edit or delete a post?
Unless you are the board admin or forum moderator you can only edit or delete your own posts. You can edit a post (sometimes for only a limited time after it was made) by clicking the edit button for the relevant post. If someone has already replied to the post, you will find a small piece of text output below the post when you return to the topic that lists the number of times you edited it. This will only appear if no one has replied; it also will not appear if moderators or administrators edit the post (they should leave a message saying what they altered and why). Please note that normal users cannot delete a post once someone has replied.

.:HayleyH:.
|
It's all to do with what Eddie posted, in Club News, the settings for normal users is:
"You cannot edit your posts in this forum
You cannot delete your posts in this forum"
Whereas in General Chat, for example, the settings for normal users is:
"You can edit your posts in this forum
You can delete your posts in this forum"
I hope that helps

Watch it Hayley. You could end up being a Service Engineer if you're not too careful

So admin and mods are not normal then

You lot are all odd, this applies more so to the spelling that some of you put up at the moment.....not mentioning any names but one of them lives UP NORTH It's about time we had a spellchecker on here [she says again ]

We've got one Jan, you

use firefox - it has one already. On other forums I am involved in the spellchecker that could be added to the forum screwed things up in quite a big way so was removed.

Wonder what a spellchecker would make of the recent spoonerisms
