Time to start thinking about the hunting and pointing training weekend at Pat and Alan Rush's farm in Heveningham, Suffolk
This is a weekend for Brittanys only, and their handlers (and families ). Angie Lewis has provisionally agreed to train on one day, but it will be a social event too, with a Barbecue in the evening
We need to know: how many intend coming, how many we have to help, how many are interested in staying overnight and coming to the BBQ, what standard dogs are at e.g. do they point or quarter. Then we can start the detail planning by sending out the appropriate information sheet and form.
Also on Friday afternoon 3rd October (from 1pm), prior to Le Weekend - cold game and water retrieving for Brittanys which are already keen dummy retrievers - to polish up basic skills on cold shot game, and from water.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested in either or both.

What was the date for the session at Patricia and Alan's?
Patricia
The dates given to me are the first week end in September. There should be stubbles left!
I have left a message on John's answer phone: I can get further help with the chairman of the Norfolk and Suffolk HPR club.( lives down the road)
Though he has GSP's !!! he is willing to help us if we want. He has trialled 2 of his bitches and got awards with them. He also organises the working test in Heveningham. As he is doing some work here -right now - we were talking dogs instead at 8 am this morning.
Steve helps me with my dogs so knows Brittanys. As he was saying: people find it difficult sometimes to ask questions after a training day not to appear to be " the only one"
But with a social event ( like we often had in the past) people relax and start comparing problems. etc...
I need to have a word with John on the format. But we will have a BBQ and there is a B&B down the road if needed. I know the landlady as I groom her Cavalier
Also there will be some room for tents or caravans. But you will have to be aware than we have sheep and chickens( running loose) so please control the dogs as I don't wish to do " a poule au riz" quite yet
