Washing..!In the winter time as we all know our dogs get covered in muck..!
Baloo always looks like he has had a bucket of mud thrown over him
He lives in the house and so i have to clean him up or its trouble for both of us
I have been washing him down with the hose in the garden which does get the mud off but as its cold water he is not keen ,
I do wash him in the bath when he gets to smelly using dog shampoo that he does not mind and will gladly stand in the bath while i foam him up.
How do you keep your dogs clean ...?

Don't bath once a week - wait till he is dry and brush him. Keep him restricted till he's dry. Mine only get a bath just before a major Championship Show(6 or 7 a year!).

That is the beauty of the Breton's coat; it is self cleaning in most instances. Like Annie, I only bathe Gaston if we are going to the show; the rest of the time he has frequent washes in the river when we go fishing which keeps his whites whiter than white! What I do detest is the dog thing about rolling in disgusting stenchy type things; but we do not really mind cos it will mean an unscheduled fishing trip!!

When the weather is dryer put a little talc on their coat and brush out. I only wash mine with shampoo if its necessary. I.E the neighbours complain that there must be some pigs living in our garden!
