What a hoot!!!!Mugi had a cracker of a question today while beating.
Over the radio came......"Can Sue send her dog in for that GOOSE?"
Halfway across the lake was a very large Canada Goose. I have to say that I did decline the challenge, he may be good but...................
When I spoke to Jeff later he said he had totally forgotten how old and new to the game Mugi is, poor lad has never picked up from water and he has yet to retrieve a duck let alone a goose that was much bigger than him!!!!!!
To give him his due he did swim out towards it and got all the way but he had no idea what to do with it so I pipped him in and one of the labs got the goose. Once the goose was landed Mugi gave it a good sniff and I wouldn't be at all surprised if the bird didn't weigh more than the dog.

Poor lad, must have been frustrating for him - there are limits to what even the best Brit can do!

Well, I am now even more convinced that you shoudl try either teh SGWC or a field trial with him. It isn't terribly onerous for an old dog - just walking on the lead most of the time and a 15 minute run, maybe twice in the day. Go on, show up the youngsters!
