hope everyone is well, its going to take me ages to catch up with whats been going on!
i've been a stranger on the forum again for a while because i'm spending so much time on the
pc painting! i bought my first graphics tablet a month or 2 ago and
bundled with it was some amazing painting software and its very addictive!

i've almost finished honey now (click for bigger):

this is my parents ESS in cornwall in a slightly different style
(yes its fur really is that long and curly lol):

and this is a friend of my mum who then asked if i'd paint her black lab
with the strangest coloured eyes i think i've seen:

(hope you don't mind me posting images this way annie - i'm hosting them
myself so it shouldn't take up any server space as far as i can work out)
best wishes to you all  Very Happy

Hi   I like the pictures especially the one of Honey as it looks like my oldest lady "Fern ". I sometimes use a tablet for graphics at work and i have to say you have done a great job and yes it is addictive.

Mike glad to see you here again.

I have a wacom pad I use for CAD - not tried 'painting' with it - do you start with a photo and work that in a 'painterly'  or do you go from scratch.

PS - just had to buy a new pen for it as a certain no names mentioned animal crunched the last one into unusable pieces

thanks annie, guy and dave Smile

re graphics tablet guy, mine's a wacom as well - i was told they were pretty good when i was looking for one and this is just the cheapest basic little wacum 'bamboo' i hope the replacement pens aren't too pricey! Smile the software bundled with it is called Art Rage. it allows you to open a reference photo next to your canvas, which is great for sampling colours to your palette or looking at a certain area in detail, it has a really friendly user interface and the brushes/tools etc are very realistic in the way they behave. best thing is there's no clearing up afterwards! below is a screenshot (unfinished) i have a jack russel to do next followed by a 'ginger collie' (its how the owner describes it anyway lol, i've not seen a photo yet).

best wishes

So are these done on the computer rather than using messy paints?

this is the one i bought from pc world annie - everything you need is in the box for getting started, it should come with the Art Rage software included Wink http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/...&sku=209728&category_oid= i did search for cheaper prices at the time, but there was not a huge saving to be had and i couldn't wait for postie to bring it  Laughing
