Well, our shooting season came to an end; Gaston at three years is just such a methodical diligent hunter and it is amazing how serious he is now that he has matured. Dionee is showing huge potential and is SO SO fast!! I hear that her siblings are also great hunters; of course with her sire and dam being such hunters there really is no excuse!! We have our first show for Dionee in a couple of weeks.
The pheasants around here were very edgy and 'sticky' but we had a few successes...thankfully! Gaston now gets most peeved if I miss a shot!!! Which is really good cos it means I have to perform with the Beretta or he judges me rather harshly. Good coveys of Californian (Valley) quail this year. I see the cock pheasants with their ladies now so hopefully they get a good laying season this year...we have had so much rain over the last few months that the laying season hopefully will be calm and dry for them.
