Well done Jan with Ghillie, I bet you are chuffed. Where did you do your SGWC?

Another Full Champion in the breed, can't be bad.

Gill and the Mabeleen.

Here's the report from Sharon - one of the Judges at that Trial.

Quote:
Ghillie was a little star

When it came to their turn we had ended up in a small wood alongside a pen.   Rory chose to do the one side of the wood first and then come back to do the other side of the pen and the top of the wood.

As soon as Rory caste Ghillie off she was already indicating that she had game ahead of her.   She drew on point at one lot of brashings, held the point, we got the guns in position and she flushed the bird, stopped on the flush, guns "missed" the bird which then meant that another 8 or so pheasants lifted from the pen giving Ghillie an ideal excuse to break her "sit" but she didn't.  She was caste on again and although she indicated she found nothing else on that side.

Back down to the bottom she was caste off again and she pointed but the bird was the other side of the pen fence so the bird lifted immediately, guns shot at it but it didn't come down and Ghillie remained steady once again.   Another little bit and another bird lifted in the pen and Ghillie stood and watched it away.

On again and drew once again on point with us judges now giving the guns a lot of pressure to get this one on the floor.   As before, flush, steady, bang and at long last bird on floor just outside the wood on the verge of this private road.

Ghillie left at sit whilst A panel judge went to check if bird was on floor and where it was - bird on floor, handler asked to bring Ghillie out to the pathway but handler told Ghillie "back and fetch" from where she was sat.   A little handling needed to get her out of the wood and onto the grass verge and then Ghillie did a nice retrieve back to Rory.

First part in the bag.....

Onto water - last dog to water.    Sit, stay, pheasant thrown, gun shot, dog told to go and one huge leap from Ghillie which landed her almost onto the bird to a huge cheer from the guns.

All in all Jan Ghillie was lovely to watch and I could have watched her all day - I did say to Rory and to Trevor that I wished she had been in the trial as a full entry as I'm sure she could have found her way into the awards.

Well done to all

Jan, I know nothing about trialing or working dogs, but hope this comment will encourage you to continue with your training  of Ghillie and your other Brittany friends.

Good luck, good wishes, and again, well done

I'm hoping she will now carry on entering Ghill herself.  Rory has proved Ghillie can do it, Jan can build on that.
